VISION STATEMENT

JOHN F. KENNEDY HIGH SCHOOL & STAKEHOLDERS

Kennedy High School will be a place to build pride in sell school and community. All stakeholders in the Kennedy community are dedicated to insuring that each student achieves high levels of academic success. Our vision will guide our decision making and will also serve as a benchmark by which we will evaluate our progress.


CLIMATE:

Kennedy is a place that people want to be. Kennedy is a place where it is inviting, friendly and safe. All stakeholders are welcome and diversity is respected. Relationships are strong and lasting.

LEADERSHIP:

Kennedy is a place where leaders are inspired. Leadership will use the mission and vision statement to guide the decision making process. Effective and timely communication supports the relationships among the stakeholders. Leadership celebrates the community’s successes and encourages continuous growth toward the vision. They will establish policies and procedures that foster an inviting, safe, diverse, and successful environment.

STAFF:

Kennedy is a place where teachers love to work. The staff is committed to supporting the mission, the vision, and goals in attitude and action. They encourage colleagues and students in an atmosphere that is safe, inviting, friendly, and diverse. Staff researches and implements best practices and is committed to life-long learning. Staff collaborates with stakeholders to improve student academic success.

STUDENTS:

Kennedy is a place where students love to learn. Students take an active and informed role in the decision making processes at Kennedy. Student academic success is the norm. They encourage each other and create an atmosphere that is safe, friendly, inviting and diverse. Students are involved at many levels of the school and community. Students accept responsibility for their learning and academic success.

TEACHING:

Kennedy is a place where all stakeholders are involved in learning. The curriculum is rigorous and relevant. Curriculum decisions will be data driven and communicated to all stakeholders. Stakeholders are involved in curriculum development and design.

COMMUNITY:

Kennedy is a place where the entire community is welcomed. The school and the community have a reciprocal relationship. Partnerships support the school’s mission, vision, and goals. The school and community will strive to develop new relationships that support academic success.
