2010-2011 School Calendar - Important News - The 2010-2011 school calendar has not been finalized yet by the school board, but I want to inform parents of an important point. Since the TSD is in Wayne County, we must follow the guidelines of the County School Board. Since Easter Next year occurs so late (April 24th) the traditional Easter Vacation week has been changed. We now are off from Saturday April 16th - Monday April 25th (The day after Easter). Again we have the week BEFORE Easter off next year. As soon as the rest of the calendar is finalized it will be put into a PDF form and placed on the printable calendars page.

Kennedy Salutes AP Exam Takers

The two weeks beginning on May 3rd mark the start of the AP exams at Kennedy. We have 83 students taking over 122 AP exams. Students who score high enough on AP exams can receive credit for college courses after they graduate. This can save students a tremendous amount of money when they start their college careers. For example a person who receives credit via the AP exam for a 3 credit course would save $1,000 in college costs at typical per-credit hour prices. Several of our students are taking more than 1 AP exam, furthering their potential college savings. The following PDF file lists the students and the exams they are taking. This list comes from Mrs. Louwers in the counseling department, who is charge of the AP program at Kennedy HS. We salute all of our students who have challenged themselves to achieve their best. (Note: The list was taken from a working spreadsheet and has some cryptic looking codes. I wanted to salute the kids who are taking the exams, so I uploaded it for everyone to see.)icon APexamtakers.pdf (11.73 KB)
